Sindhu Bikash Bank Ltd (SINDU) is a development bank and the first such bank opened in Sindhupalchok district, licensed by Nepal Rastra Bank as a Class-B financial institution. Its head office is located at Barhabise-4, Barhabise Bazar, Sindhupalchowk. The bank commenced operations on 9 September 2010 and was established with 184 promoter shareholders. It was founded to promote banking habits and entrepreneurship across Sindhupalchok, Kavrepalanchok, Dolakha, Makwanpur and Chitwan districts. The bank operates a network of around 26 branches plus a limited banking outlet. It serves more than 140,000 customers and operates under the Company Act and Bank and Financial Institutions Act.
