Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about accounts, trading and settlement
Account Opening
How do I open a trading account?
Click Open Account at the top of the page and complete the online KYC. You will need your citizenship certificate, a passport-size photo and your bank details.
What documents do I need?
Citizenship certificate (both sides), a recent photo, your bank account details and a signature specimen. Minors additionally need a guardian's documents and birth certificate.
What is a demat account and do I need one?
A demat account holds your shares electronically under CDSC. Yes — you need one to trade; we can open it for you as your depository participant.
How long does account opening take?
Online KYC is usually verified within one working day. Your TMS trading credentials follow by email once NEPSE assigns the client code.
Trading
What are NEPSE trading hours?
NEPSE trades Sunday to Thursday, 11:00 AM – 3:00 PM, with pre-open from 10:30 AM. The market is closed on public holidays.
How do I place my first order?
Log in to TMS with the credentials we email you, load your collateral, pick a symbol and place a buy order. Our trading desk can walk you through the first one on a call.
What is the circuit breaker / daily price range?
A stock can normally move ±10% from its previous close in a day. Index-level circuit breakers can also halt the whole market briefly on sharp moves.
How much commission do I pay per trade?
Broker commission follows the NEPSE slab schedule based on your trade amount, plus the SEBON fee and DP charge. See the Fees & Commission page or try the share calculator.
Settlement & Payments
When do I receive shares I bought?
NEPSE settles on T+2 — shares arrive in your demat account two trading days after the purchase.
When do I get paid after selling?
Sale proceeds are transferred to your registered bank account on settlement day (T+2), after deducting commission, fees and any applicable capital gains tax.
How do I deposit or withdraw funds?
Deposit into our settlement bank account and send us the voucher with your client code. Withdrawals go to your registered bank account only — third-party accounts are not allowed.
MeroShare & Demat
What is MeroShare used for?
MeroShare (by CDSC) lets you apply for IPOs, check your demat holdings and transfer shares (EDIS) when you sell. Credentials come from your depository participant — us.
How do I renew my demat and MeroShare accounts?
Both renew annually with a small fee. We send a reminder before expiry — you can pay along with your other dues or at our office.
