Forward Microfinance Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha Limited (FOWAD), also known as FORWARD Community Microfinance, is a Nepali Class D microfinance institution (Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha) established in September 2012 under the Company Act of Nepal. Nepal Rastra Bank granted its license in March 2013 under the Bank and Financial Institution Act, and it began formal operations in May 2013. Its head office is located at Duhabi, Sunsari, Nepal. FORWARD provides microfinance services including loans, deposits, micro-insurance, and remittance to low-income families, following the Grameen Bank (Bangladesh) group-lending model as well as its own non-group lending model through a network of branch offices.
