Nepal Insurance Company Limited is the oldest insurance company of Nepal and a pioneer non-life (general) insurer, established in 1947 AD. It was originally founded by Nepal Bank Limited (51%) and the general public (49%) under the name 'Nepal Mal Chalani Tatha Beema Company,' later renamed 'Nepal Insurance & Transport Company Ltd.' in 1959 and 'Nepal Insurance Company Ltd.' in 1991. Its registered head office is located in Kamaladi, Kathmandu. The company offers a broad range of non-life insurance products and is regulated by the Nepal Insurance Authority.
