Nepal Bank Limited
Nepal Bank Limited (NBL) is the first bank of Nepal, established on 15 November 1937 (Kartik 30, 1994 B.S.) under the Nepal Bank Act 1937. Its head office is at Dharmapath, New Road, Kathmandu. It was inaugurated to institutionalize a formal banking system in Nepal, starting with an authorized capital of Rs 10 million. At establishment, government and private shareholders held 60% and 40% respectively. NBL is an 'A' class commercial bank operating a nationwide network across all provinces.
