Notice Regarding the Impact of Flash Flood on Electricity Generation and Power Evacuation of Upper Tadi Khola Hydropower Project

Suryakunda Hydro Electric Limited has submitted details regarding the impact of the unexpected flash flood that occurred on 2083/05/10 on the Upper Tadi Khola Hydropower Project located in Dupcheshwar Rural Municipality, Nuwakot. The 11 MW project experienced an interruption in electricity generation and power evacuation following the flood.

According to the notice, no direct physical damage was identified in the project's main structures and equipment; however, the flood affected the power evacuation system through damage to the Trishuli 3B Hub Substation and related transmission infrastructure. The company has been coordinating with the Nepal Electricity Authority to explore alternative power evacuation arrangements and facilitate the restoration of electricity generation and evacuation.

The notice also provides information regarding the project's insurance coverage, current insurance claim status, preliminary financial impact, loan and interest obligations, estimated project restoration timeline, and the management's response and ongoing initiatives for restoring the project to operation.
